Texas Woman Guilty in Newborn's Drowning BEAUMONT, Texas (Sept. 1) - A woman who gave birth while on the toilet and let the baby drown in the bowl was found guilty of murder Wednesday and sentenced to life in prison. Katrina Fergerson, 30, testified that she was drinking heavily and "wasn't in my right state of mind" when she left the full-term baby girl in the toilet bowl at a friend's house in 2002.
